FEATURED DESIGNER: CLEO B
By Allison Hayes – December 19, 2011
Introducing Cleo B, a London based shoe designer whose It’s Like That Spring/Summer 2012 Collection boasts more attitude then a failing rappers attempt at “doing it for the hood, man.”
Gold plated cassette player heels take centre stage in her 80’s hip hop inspired collection, along with ‘BOOM’ sandals and music note etched heels. With vibrant mixes of gold, purple, turquoise and fuchsia, this collection is out to make as much impact as if you were casually strolling through your neighbourhood donning an old school Boom Box on your shoulders.
Cleo B is a high end shoe designer, so if splashing out £200 on a pair of shoes ain’t your thang, detachable gold plated cassette’s are available from £50 to add some $$ to your otherwise potentially boring footwear.
Although designing for a niche market, after working with many established shoe designers, including Nicholas Kirkwood, to developing an ever growing fan base and gaining an exhibition slot at London Fashion Week, Cleo B’s “characteristically sculptural and eye-catching” designs look set to only get bigger and bolder.
With a constant demand for fashion to twist into something more modern and inspiring, and with past Cleo B collections being adorned and embellished with glass sculptures, solid gold plumes and delocate crystals, this designer is out to make a stand for a new era of footwear, and is doing a mighty fine job of it!
